Camera system for IRIMETER-2
IRIMETER-2C is a camera system for IRIMETER-2 road roughness measuring device. The camera system enables to take photos of the road during the measurement of road roughness index IRI. All photos are saved to a USB flash drive with coordinates, timestamp and IRI values.
The system consists of central unit, 1 or 2 cameras and IRIMETER-2 device. The central unit connects all parts of the system together, processes camera images, collects measurement data and saves the data to a USB drive. The cameras are attached to the windshield of the vehicle with included camera mount. The IRIMETER-2 device measures IRI, distance and GPS coordinates. IRIMETER-2 control block is used to start and stop the measurement, monitor the measurement results and check the status of the camera system.
Camera resolution and other settings can be changed by the user. User can also change the distance interval of the saved images. The measurement results and coordinates can be added to the corner of each image. Camera image can be viewed through built-in wifi with a computer or a phone to check the camera viewing angle during installation.
IRIMETER-2C power is supplied from the cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle. The system has a built-in small backup power source, which allows the system to continue functioning even if there are short power disruptions.
