Blasting machines and line testers can be used to prepare clear the mining site and the area can be monitored for metal or possible radiation. Prior to the work, the area can be checked for soil particle density and groundwater level, and the area or length of the site can be determined.

Englo offers bulldozer and grader mounted slope meters to determine and keep the desired bucket or blade angle during the excavation.
